Interim, freelance and contract resource is defined as the expertise provided to organisation's requirements. This could be as either a "limited company" employee or through an umbrella company.
Often the knee jerk reaction is to avoid using contract, freelance or interim resource due to an anticipated high cost. Upon further investigation however, this may not be the case, or the best decision. Yes, on a direct ‘hourly' comparison, contract resource is usually more expensive than a permanent counterpart, but by avoiding many hidden and indirect costs, evidence shows this comparison to be flawed.
Contract resource avoids the costs associated with induction, training and development, holiday entitlement, certain company insurance and liabilities, pension contributions, sickness and company cars or allowances.
The contract resource Is productive from day one, is employed only whilst the work warrants and is invariably less ‘management' intensive, leaving you to focus more time and energy on your permanent staff, your business needs and your customers.
